WHY SPONSOR?
FemArt Gallery Incorporated is a non-profit established in March 2017 to lead women artists out of the margins of local and national art scenes. Women artists are not adequately represented in terms of access to studio spaces, exhibitions, leadership positions in the art industry. Women's voices are not valued based on their work but instead face bias of antiquated views of women artists in history. Gender remains to be a determinant of artistic success for many.
Our goal is to open a feminist gallery and studio space in the Jacksonville area. A feminist gallery won’t end the gender artist divide but will offer correctives through investment, scholarship, education, connectedness and opportunities for women artists in the Jacksonville area, removing barriers and helping local women artists and art leaders thrive and succeed.
